Playa Las Flores
Arguably Central Americas finest sand bottomed point break. With a swell coming out of the south west and the tides just right you can expect nothing but magic. Take off from behind the rock straight into a draining sand bottomed cavern, get spat out, link some serious top to bottom turns, line up the middle section, shoot the tube once more, wrap around back into the pocket and head straight for the finishing section and see how far you can punt it.
But its not just all about when its on. Because it is generally on 6 out of 7 days and no matter what the conditions are. You can expect fun and playful waves anytime of year
Punta Mango
Punta Mango is one of those waves that you just have to surf once in your life whilst it is firing. It has an Indonesian style feel to it breaking over cobble stones. On those big days the take off is surreal and the stand up barrel section has a real raw feeling to it. One where you have to angle your board more towards the beach than down the line to keep from being sucked over the falls.
This wave is mechanical in nature and be sure to know that once you get the feel for it, then you have it. All that’s left is to catch as many as you can (whilst sharing with everyone else in the line up) and practice that giant hack, floater, tube riding or late drop that you have been trying to perfect over and over again.
Playa El Toro
A beach break not far from our location that will catch even the smallest of swells. This is where we go to on those rare days when Flores has seemed to run out of puff.
But don’t let that fool you, this wave can be real. Expect everything from fun playful waves for beginners to intermediates through to proper world class beach break barrels.
And that’s not all
With over 10 other breaks in the area, from playful beachies to perfect point breaks through to hellman only Reefs, there is something for all to enjoy.
